Developing a marketing strategy in today’s world can feel like an overwhelming task for a small business owner.   Customers are bombarded by advertising in new and ever increasingly invasive ways – how can you develop and implement a strategy that makes your product/service stand out?  Believe it or not, it is not as complicated as it might seem.  Bringing your marketing strategy back to basics and developing a solid foundation will ensure you have a plan that is effective and adaptable for future growth.  We are pleased to offer a 3-part workshop where you will work with experienced facilitators and industry experts to develop the strategy that is right for you!

 

Get Back to Basics (February 14):  The first workshop in our series will be a hands-on experience where you will begin to build your Marketing Plan by defining key elements of your marketing mix (Product, Price, Promotion and Place).  You will engage in individual work, collaborate with other attendees and leave with a working tool that you will build on as your product /service matures.  If you have already started a Marketing Plan, this workshop will help you refine the details for best results.

Tackling Social Media (February 28):  The world of social media is filled with opportunities and pitfalls.  Selecting the social media channels that offer a strong fit with your product/service is Step 1, but there is a lot more to building a successful presence, maintaining your brand identity and managing negative situations.  This session will offer discussion/direction on the primary social media channels and review case studies to understand how to successfully promote and protect your product/service.  You will leave this session with an approach to social media marketing that targets the best channels for your product.

Market Ready (March 14):  The final workshop will bring all the information from workshops 1-2 together as attendees will finalize their marketing strategy, inclusive of a brand statement and defined marketing mix (Product, Price, Promotion and Place).  Attendees will have a chance to present their strategies in small groups and receive feedback/direction from attendees and facilitators.  Upon completing the third workshop, you will have a marketing roadmap to follow and leverage as you move your product/service forward.

About Your Instructors

Lesley Dodson is a process aficionado. She’s on the perpetual lookout for ways to optimize processes by wiring technology, marketing, and people together. Positive, energetic and a tenacious problem-solver, Lesley relies on communication, ongoing discovery, and flexible processes to support teams and drive projects forward. She has 20 years of experience building collaborative teams, designing marketing strategies and managing technologies with roles at organizations that include Nike, L’Oréal, Norm Thompson Outfitters and M Financial Group. Lesley holds an MBA and a BSBA from the University of Arizona, and she serves on the Board of Directors for The Pongo Fund, an Oregon nonprofit focused on fighting animal hunger

 

 

 

Beau Platte has spent his life building bridges between people and cultures. This adventurer honed his global business skills, contextual intelligence, and leadership abilities traveling the world.
