Event Overview

The Shuttered Venue Operators Grant, which opened on April 8, will provide $16 billion in grants to shuttered venues through the SBA’s Office of Disaster Assistance. Eligible entities may include live venue operators, theatrical producers, live performing arts organization operators, motion picture theatre operators, museums, and historic homes. Applicants may qualify for grants equal to 45 percent of their gross earned revenue, with the maximum amount available for a single grant award of $10 million.

Today’s webinar will do a deep dive into the program, answering questions including:

• How do I determine if I’m eligible for SVOG?
• If I’m eligible for SVOG, PPP, and EIDL, how do I decide which program is the best for me?
• What do I need to know about the application process, and how do I gather my paperwork?

This hour-long workshop will take place over Zoom and can be joined by video or phone. Webinar information will be sent in advance of the event.

About Your Instructor

Greg Charles has over 25 years of experience working with all types of businesses ranging from small start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. In 1989, he began managing corporate financial operations and reporting, where he learned the challenges of managing a business first-hand. Greg is the outstanding teacher for the Mercy Corps Northwest LIFE Program that provides Prison and Re-entry Services.

Since 2002, Greg has been active in college and continuing professional education. He has taught at a number of colleges and universities in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area in the fields of accounting, finance, economics, business math, forecasting and managerial statistics. He currently holds adjunct faculty positions at Portland Community College and Oregon Coast Community College.

Greg earned his M.A. in Development Banking from The American University in Washington D.C. and his B.A. in International Relations from The University of Pennsylvania.
