There are no silver bullets to ranking in Google, and Google’s ranking algorithm is one of the most complicated pieces of technology in the world. But there are a number of proven Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices that every small business can and should implement in order to get more traffic (and customers) from Google.
There will be ample opportunity for extended questions and answers, and for the brave souls who volunteer, we’ll take a look at a few attendee websites and get into specifics about how they can be improved!
David Mihm is the founder of Tidings, a company built to help small businesses make the most of the time energy, and money they spend on digital marketing.
Previously, David co-founded and ran GetListed.org, an application to help small businesses create and optimize their presence in local directories, which was acquired by Moz in 2012. David was instrumental in the development of Moz Local and served as Moz’s Director of Local Search Strategy.
David has been invited to present on Local search marketing at every major industry conference, including the BIA/Kelsey Group ILM Series, LSA, StreetFight, MozCon, SearchLove, and multiple SMX and SES events.
He previously served on the Board of Directors of SEMpdx, Portland’s search marketing trade organization, as Director of Partnerships from 2008 – 2010 and SearchFest Director in 2011, and currently serves on its Advisory Board.
