About Your Seminar

Contracts and agreements are important for conducting business for all sizes of companies. In this seminar you will learn what a business contract is, how to minimize your risk in order to protect your company, and how to create a win-win situation that works best for your business when drafting, negotiating, and signing business contracts.

You will walk away with answers to the following questions:

  • What is a contract?
  • Why should I use contracts and how can I leverage them to enhance my business?
  • How can having contracts minimize risk and protect business owners?

About Your Presenter

Michael Jonas is the Attorney and Owner of Rational Unicorn Legal Services LLC, a community based business law firm.  The firm offers pay as you go legal services including but not limited to business formation, contract review and drafting, trademark and copyright applications, and conflict resolution. The firm is an Oregon Benefit Company and strongly believes in and practices the triple bottom line (people, planet, and profits).

Passionate about community engagement, Michael dedicates time to volunteering with several nonprofit organizations. He currently serves on three nonprofit boards: New Leaders Council (NLC), the hub for progressive Millennial thought leadership; Hatch Innovation, a social entrepreneurial innovation incubator; and The Main Street Alliance of Oregon, the local chapter of a national network of state-based small business coalitions.   
*Scholarship Option 1 – Income Based: Partial scholarships are available from Mercy Corps Northwest to low-income individuals with proper documentation. Applications must be received one week before the start of class to be considered. Link to Online Application.

*Scholarship Option 2 – Designated for People of Color: In partnership with The City of Portland, we are thrilled to be able to offer people of color scholarships to any  training activity.
