Protecting the business you’ve built or hope to build is an art and a science. Join us to learn practical and foundational knowledge about intellectual property that every small business owner and entrepreneur needs to know. When it comes to preserving your valuable intellectual property rights and protecting your business interests, knowledge is power.

About Your Presenter
Michael Jonas is the Attorney and Owner of Rational Unicorn Legal Services LLC, a community based business law firm. His firm offers services including but not limited to business formation, contract review and drafting, trademarking and copyrighting, and commercial lease negotiation. The firm is an Oregon Benefit Company and strongly believes and practices the triple bottom line (people, planet, and profit).
Prior to practicing law, Mr. Jonas had roles in real estate, nonprofit programming, conflict resolution, and brand marketing. In addition to running his own practice he is the volunteer Co-Director of New Leaders Council-Portland, an organization that trains community leaders from every industry on how to use policy, fundraising, education, and advocacy in order to elevate their community project and life goals.
*Scholarship Option 1 – Income Based:
Partial scholarships are available from Mercy Corps Northwest to low-income individuals with proper documentation. Applications must be received one week before the start of class to be considered. Link to Online Application
*Scholarship Option 2 – Designated for People of Color: In partnership with Prosper Portland, we are thrilled to be able to offer people of color scholarships to any training activity. Eligible clients need to have a home or business address within the city of Portland. Our goal is to make business education accessible to everyone in our community. Link to Online Application.
